EAL Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations

What do these qualifications cover?

The application of knowledge involved with the Inspection, Testing and Certification of new electrical installation work. This Award has one unit which covers the necessary learning outcomes for initial verification of electrical installations. This includes learning outcomes about safe Isolation Procedure, Visual Inspection, Safe Testing, pre‐energised (dead tests) and energised tests (live tests); documentation (Electrical Installation Certificate/Minor Electrical Works Certificate), and the practical use of test equipment.

The examinations for these Level 3 qualifications are open book. The on‐screen assessments allows the use of Guidance Note 3 (GN3), Inspection & Testing, published by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

EAL Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations 

1   on‐screen (OPEN BOOK) exam with 55 questions

4   centre marked practical assessments consisting of:

Initial inspection

Insulation resistance testing,

Earth fault loop impedance measurement,

Commissioning of a three phase rig.

Course Cost:   £900

Attendance:   1 day per week  for 6 weeks

                     or 2 evenings per week for 6 weeks
